How to Enjoy a Snow Day at a Bed and Breakfast

Have you heard the news? The Northeast is expecting to be hit with a “snow hurricane”. We’re not sure about you, but this is somewhat of a new concept for us. We’ve dealt with our share of blizzards in the past…but a “snow hurricane”? That sounds ominous, doesn’t it?

If you have plans to visit a Jackson NH B&B sometime this winter, you will most likely experience a snow day or two, whether they come from a “snow hurricane” or not. For some folks, the idea of a snow day is an excuse for a cozy weekend indoors.

Others, however, aren’t necessarily too keen on the idea of staying indoors. The whole purpose of a winter getaway was to enjoy the fun side of snow – the winter sports! Most likely, after the storm hits, conditions will be safe for you to get out and enjoy the fresh snow with downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.

What if the storm lasts the whole time you’ve booked your B&B stay? Can you still have a thoroughly enjoyable weekend? Definitely; and we’ll show you how!

Activities for the Restless Guest
Besides the comforting accommodations, B&B’s offer some wonderful activities for guests. At the Bernerhoff Inn, one of our favorite offerings is the hands on cooking school. If you’ve come to the bed and breakfast with friends, we offer group classes. In addition, we have private lessons where you can enjoy one-on-one cooking coaching with our masterful chefs.
What are some of the perks of attending a bed and breakfast cooking school? Well, besides the tasty food you’ll learn to create, you’ll get an apron to take home and we also give our students a diploma! Go back home and proudly display your skills to your friends and family members. If they don’t believe in your newfound cooking skills, show them the diploma. They’ll be sure to give your cooking a chance!
Ahhh…the Spa!
Really, is there anything better than the spa experience? What better way to spend a snow day than relaxing? Get the works: manicure, pedicure, and full body massage. Talk about a vacation!
If you’ve come with your significant other, you’ll completely enjoy the couples massage. The couple that relaxes together stays together. You’ll go back home at the end of your stay with us completely rejuvenated.
Stay Cozy
These activities are fun and relaxing, but there is another option, one that might just be ideal for someone living a fast paced lifestyle. What is that option? Simply – do nothing. Stay in your room; enjoy a warm fire and the fantastic view of the White Mountains. Cozy up in bed all weekend and watch TV or read that book you’ve been meaning to finish.
Embrace your inner child and get excited about a snow day again. With all of the options you have at a bed and breakfast, you may find you don’t want to go outdoors when the storm has lifted.
